The "Arche"

The Christian Children- and Youth Service “Arche” was founded in Berlin in 1995. The goal of the registered association is to keep children out of trouble, fight social deficits and raise the awareness for young people as one of the central cornerstones of society. The "Arche" offers one warm meal a day, help with homeworks, meaningful free time activities like sports and music but mainly a lot of attention. Bernd Siggelkow, the head and founder of the project, was awarded the "Federal Cross of Merit", among others.

Currently there are 14 "Arche" branches in Germany - because the demand for this offer is huge. A total of 100 “Arche” employees take care of up to 2,000 children and teenagers in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt/Main, Potsdam, Göttingen and Meißen

30 children at the "Arche" in Munich can look forward to loads of fun and activities during the summer vacations: The Sky Foundation will cover the costs for the sports offering in the scope of the 2011 summer camp.

The camp takes place on a camping yard at the Chiemsee. According to the motto "Circus", the children and teenagers train balancing and juggling tricks. A visit at the swimming pool is also part of the program. The week is made perfect with the "Abenteuer Bergwald" (mountain forest) campaign. Here, the children are following a set hiking path while learning a lot of things about the domestic fauna and flora. A good snack is also part of the program of course.
